World Scout Jamboree 2019

Date: 4th Oct 2019 Author: Jenny Harlow

You are told that the Jamboree will be an incredible experience of a lifetime and a small part of your life which you will never forget. These remarks of course spark excitement but would never, and will never, be able to provide anyone will expectations or assumptions as to how the Jamboree Experience will impact you to change as a person.

The Adventure started in New York then a nine hour coach journey to The Bechtel Summit Reserve.  After an incredible time with some many activities we travelled to Washington D.C.   Seeing the Air and Space Museum and The American History Museum, which was full of things such as the Bat mobile, Mohammad Ali’s boxing gloves, Dorothy’s ruby slippers and the Swedish chef from the Muppets. We also walked to see the Washington Monument, The Reflecting Pool and The White House.  We also managed to see a baseball game.  We then journeyed to Toronto, where we took a bike tour around the city, went on a boat trip to Niagara Falls, before travelling back across the border to JFK Airport and back home.

I cannot describe how incredible this trip was and how unique the experience was to each individual person. If anyone is wondering about the next Jamboree, I can’t recommend it enough because it is an adventure of a lifetime.
